Thank you

I think we all had a good day on Sunday, plenty of scrapping/cardmaking seemed to get done and there was lots of lovely goodies to eat. Secret Santa was very good to us all.

Dilys and I would like to wish you all a very Merry "Craftmas" and a safe and happy New Year. We would also like to thank everyone for their support over the past year, it seems to have flown by and doesn't seem like a year that we took over the "club". It has been a fun year and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2010.

Once again, thank you for your support, see you all soon.

Dilys and Linda.

25 October 2009

Another Sunday scrapping session has been and gone, gosh time flies by when you’re having fun. It was another great day of scrapping, card making and chatting. The swap was another success, with lots of lovely beach/summer themes.
For our last meeting of the year, 22nd November, it was decided we would do another Christmas theme (I suppose this would be called Christmas in November) and another Secret Santa – to the value of $5.00. So if you are going to join us for the last session of the year, please bring a Secret Santa gift, your Santa hat, and lots of Christmas cheer.
In regards to food, we though we could have a lunch and afternoon tea, so if we could bring a mix of savoury and sweet, with a Christmas theme, that would be great. If you can let us know what you are bring that would be helpful.
We hope as many of you that can, will join us and we look forward to seeing you then.
SWAP – the theme for the swap this month is “journal tag”, no particular theme or colour, just a journal tag.
Those participating at the moment are:
Shandell
Kylie
Katie
Julie
Linda
Sandra
If you want to join in, please email/post a comment and we will add your name to the list.
Thanks, have a good month
Linda

PS - One of my resolutions for next year will to always bring my camera and take photos of the pages/cards everybody creates.

Next Sunday scrap

Hi ladies, the swaps seem to be a hit, we had quite a few (13) participating last month and they were all a success with lots of variety. There is a photo of the swaps received, and an extra being one of Petrina's flowers that I used on the day..... The next swap will be to celebrate spring, main colour green, so can you let me know who is going to participate and we will get the ball rolling thanks.
About next year, we are presuming everybody wants to carry on the club for another year, and so we will shortly book the rooms for next year, can you let us know which week in the month is preferred, 1/2/4th I think the third is taken up with Paula and Gayle and Stamping Up. Can you let us know asap, and we will go ahead and book.
See you soon,

After the party

Hi ladies, what a great fun day, I think everybody enjoyed "Christmas in July", especially with Santa calling early, lots of chatting and laughter. Welcome to Paula who joined us today, we look forward to seeing you again.
I took photos of everybody receiving their Secret Santa gift (except myself of course!!!), what a great variety of gifts, its amazing what you can get for $5.00 when you really try.
The swap was a success, lots of ready made embellishments for us to use with our Christmas photos.
There is another swap for next month, a colour swap, which is neutrals, browns/beiges. Can you let us know if you want to join in, the closing day will be 16th August (just email us or post a comment on the blog), which gives us 2 weeks to get them done, at the moment there is 13!!!!!, being:
Helen, Shandelle, Kylie, Julie, Kate, Lorelle, Kerry, Rachelle, Petrina, Danielle, Sandra, Linda and Dilys.

29 June 2009

What a good way to end the 2009 financial year, a happy afternoon scrapping with friends and having a chat and a few laughs. Everybody seemed to enjoy the afternoon, Dilys and I certainly did.
A big thank you to Helen for demonstrating many ways to alter embellishments, a few there that were new to us, thank you so much Helen for giving us a differnt view on how to use our "stash".
An update on next month, it's Christmas in July (not June Petrina - LOL - there's one in every group!!!), so the whole afternoon will have a Christmas theme, so bring some Christmas pages to do, wear a silly santa hat, and some yummy Christmas food. There is also a secret santa, so bring a gift to the value of $5.00 - and just to make it that bit harder - not a scrapbook item.................!!. But lets face it we are all female, so that makes it a lot easier doesn't it.
Shandell has come up with the idea of having a swap, so if you want to join in, let us know, the swap will be of a Christmas theme, a Christmas tag, journal tag or along those lines, so put the thinking hats on ladies and let us know who will be participating as soon as possible. Shandell is to get back to me with the numbers so that we know how many tags or whatever we are to make. Look forward to hearing from you Shandelle.
About next year, we are going to organise dates for next year and hopefully you will all support the group as you have this year, dates will be given out as soon as we can get organised.
Have a good week ladies
Linda & Dilys
PS a few ladies were trying to work out days for the retreat next year and I checked and it is 16-18 April 2010.

Next afternoon of scrapping

Hi ladies, just a reminder about next Sunday's scrapping. Helen is going to show us ways to alter embellishments, always good to know for those times when we can't find that "something" to match our pages. Please come along and join us for a crafty afternoon. Don't forget, if you have something (scrapbooking or papercraft related) to sell, bring it along and we will have a table set up for such things.
The theme for our meeting in July is "Christmas in July". Which will be all about Christmas. There will be a secret santa sack, so if everyone can bring a gift to the value of $5.00 - it doesn't have to be craft orientated, it could be hand cream, soaps etc. Afternoon tea will also be a Christmas theme.
Have a good week, and we look forward to seeing you all next week,
Bye for now
Linda and Dilys

24/5/09 Pictures

Hi here are the gift bags that we made on Sunday.
I didn't take any photos of Tracey's pages as she is entering them into the Gin Gin show. Hope you had good luck with them, from what I could see, you could be a winner - also good luck to the children that Tracey teaches and who are entering the show.
Anyhow, that's it for now, have a good week, we may see some of you at the show in Brisbane over the long w/end, if not see you all next month.
Bye for now,
Linda and Dilys

Sunday 24/5/09

We had another fun time today, we welcomed a new lady, Tracey, who said she enjoyed the day and would be back agina. It's always nice to welcome new ladies to the group, so if you know of anybody who would like to join us, please encourage them to come along.

Gayle showed us how to make a lovely gift bag, photos will be coming, I took them on my phone and at the moment it is recharging!!. The gift bag was great for gifts such as secret santas, with such things as soap and washer, lollies and the like, it would be ideal for a baby gift, holding soap, talc and the like. Gayle also showed us a gift voucher holder and birthday card. Thanks for that Gayle, also thanks for bringing all your stamps and punches for everyone to use.

Well ladies, thanks for coming along and making it a lovely "scrap and chat".

By the way, Shandelle found her staz on stamp, like everything we can't find, it's usually sitting there looking at us!

Look forwared to seeing you all next month, with lots of news about the papercraft expo in Brisbane, can't wait for that.............

BTW - check out the new look Kerry!!! You go girl!!!

Bye for now

Linda and Dilys

Hi ladies

Last scrap meet, Shandell loaned out her Versamark Black Ink pad to somebody. She can't remember who to, and forgot to get it when she left. Could whoever borrowed it from her, bring it next scrap meet. Thanks a heap.
Dilys & I went to the Civic Centre tonight, saw a few scrappy friends, spent too much, but it is nice to support local events. I hope the expo was a success as no doubt a lot of work went into it.
See you next meet.

24 May

I have had a chat with Gayle and she will show us how to make a gift box and show us the scrapbooking kits that are new from Stampin Up, maybe even a card. She will then have packs that we can purchase.
Gayle asked me to invite you to the Stamping Up afternoon on Saturday the 16th May, at the Neighbourhood Centre, from 12 noon to 4.00pm. The cost is $20.00 and they will be doing a scrapbooking demonstration with the new kits from Stamping Up. I will forward the flyer with more information when I receive it.
Cheers,
have a good weekend

Sunday 26th April 2009

I don't know about everybody else, we had a great day, a few laughs and a lot chatting and scrapping went on. It's nice that a group of ladies with a common interest can get along so famously. Thank you ladies for making it a fun day.
Unfortunately Sandra had to leave early because of her arm, here's hoping you are feeling better Sandra, and happy birthday for the 6th!!!
There is another announcement for one of our ladies, but Shandelle has the honour of that announcement, so keep your eye out on Shandelle's blog!!!!
Welcome to another new member, Carolyn, good to see you and hopefully you will join us again.
Everone seemed to have been very busy and quite a few pages were done, I managed to remember my camera (but unfortunately forgot the sewing machine - Sorry Petrina).
I haven't put names to pages so that I don't get embarrassed (again) when I get them wrong. They are all beautiful pages, what talent we have in our small group.
Future get togethers:
After speaking to a few ladies, we have decided there will be a table set aside each month on which you can put unwanted items that you want to sell (scrapbooking items of course). Just bring it along, put it on the table showing your name and the price and hopefully for the sellers it will be a case of one man's trash being another man's treasure.
We are in the process of organising the following for the next few months:
May - a demonstration by Gayle of stamping up (to be confirmed)
June - a demonstration by Helen
July - Christmas in July.
We'll have more information just before the dates.
Have a good month, take care and thank you for your support.
Dilys and Linda

26th April 2009

Hello ladies, we hope you all had a very happy Easter and spent time relaxing.
Hopefully you are ready for a day of scrapping and chatting and can join us on the 26th April, we look forward to seeing you there.

There has been a suggestion for another "garage sale", can we have your thoughts on this.
The retreat, as always, was great, lots of laughter, chatting, eating, drinking and of course, scrapping. There seemed to be a lot of pages getting done by everyone and I think the majority vote was that it was a huge success. I must say a big thank you to Geoff from out at Chaverim, I lost my ring and luckily he found it and took the time out to deliver it to me at work, thanks Geoff!
Well ladies, see you on the 26th,
Bye for now

Sunday 22nd March

Thank you to everyone that turned up on Sunday, it was great to see you all there, we can't get over the support we are getting, thank you so much. There was 17 of us on Sunday, WOW! Amazing what a bit of air conditioning can do...........LOL. Maybe it was the rumour about the pole dancer....she failed miserably - needs a lot of practice. We welcomed some new ladies and hope they enjoyed themselves and come again. We hope you all got heaps done and had a good day, we certainly did and look forward to next month. Thank you to everybody that helped set up and clear away, the help was certainly appreciated.

I have attached a photo of everybody busy busy.

Well, those that are going to the retreat we will see you there, and those that aren't we will see you on the 26th April (which is Anzac Day).

Bye for now,

Dilys and Linda

22/3/09

Well ladies, not long to the 22nd and our next craft day. I don’t know about everybody else but it seems a long time since we all got together. I expect most of you have been to the Neighbourhood Centre before and know that there is parking at the back and also a back entrance (oh and did I mention that it is air-conditioned).
As this is our first get together in the Centre, could you please note the terms and conditions of use of the Centre that will be emailed to you (especially in relation to children under 15). For those of you who have no alternative but to bring children, please read the terms and conditions in relation to the areas that they are not allowed (they need to be in the room with you, under your supervision at all times).

Because we are starting earlier, please feel free to bring your lunch, there will be the usual afternoon tea donated by all, but if you can't hang out until then, bring your lunch,
Thanks and see you all on the 22nd

New Venue

Hi, well everything is organized for the new venue, so the next Sunday Scrap Session will be on the 22nd March, 2009 at the Neighbourhood Centre, Targo Street, starting at 11.00 and going until 4.30. The room is downstairs and as I said before, there is parking at the rear of the building. Any questions, contact us. Hope to see you all there.
Thanks
Dilys & Linda

Monday, February 16, 2009

Hello ladies, hope everybody had a lovely Valentine’s Day with lots of chocolates and flowers.
Dilys and I are looking for your feedback in regard to moving the meetings from St Pat’s Hall to the Neighbourhood Centre in Targo Street. It is a lovely room, air conditioned and the usual facilities (urn/fridge etc). The tables are trestle tables which are light to move, comfortable chairs and there is plenty of parking at the back of the Centre. Some of you may be familiar with the Centre, it is a nice airy room, not as big as the Hall, but enough room for our sessions and oh did I say it was air conditioned!!!!!.
Details – hours 10am – 4pm
Cost - $50.00 – this is $17.00 more than what we pay at St Pat’s, but it is for a longer time (i.e. 6 hours as opposed to 4 hours) and more comfortable and did I say air conditioned???? We should be able to cover the cost so long as there are at least 10 people there. If the numbers are less than that, we may have to all put in enough to pay for the rent (i.e. if 8 ladies are there, the cost would be $6.25).
The only drawback would be the days would have to change, they only have available the last (4th) Sunday in each month available up until the end of the year.
This would be the following dates:
March 22, April 24, May 24, June 28, July 26, August 23, September 27, October 25 and November 22. In regard to April, this means that the ladies that don’t go to the retreat don’t have to miss out on a meeting that month. We have not included December.
If we enjoy the rooms/facilities then we could always book out the next year straight up.
Could you let us have your feelings about this as soon as possible, preferable before the end of this week so that the room can be booked.
If you don’t want to move, then let us know, as we are a group, and need everybody’s input.
We will also email those that we have emails for.
Thanks ladies,
Linda

Friday, February 13, 2009

Hi everybody. Thank you to those that came to the Hall on the 8th Feb. We had a good afternoon, everybody seemed to get lots done, but unfortunately no photographs were take (sorry about that). Will take heaps hopefully next time on the 8th March. We look forward to seeing you all then. Just to let you know that the price for the hire of the hall has "jumped" up, from $15.00 to $33.00. It won’t affect the monthly fee of $5.00 but just means that it will take a while for the kitty to grow and for us to buy more equipment.
On a more serious note about the bush fires down south, if you go to Petrina’s blog
http://scrap-petrina-just-scrap.blogspot.com, you will see there is a way that the scrapbooking community can help out in a small way. So if you can help out, please do, if you can’t get to the Creative Artz Cottage or Petrina, you could bring them along on the 8th and we can organise to get them sent off. As you can see from Petrina’s blog, there are other ways we can all help out. I am sure all our thoughts are with everybody.
See you on the 8th March
Dilys & Linda

February 8th

Hi all, just a reminder that Feb 8th is the next Sunday "craft" afternoon.

We are looking forward to seeing you all there, the more the merrier. Don't forget if you have any suggestions or ideas for "themes" etc., please let us know, we have a few up our sleeves for the coming months, but ideas would be good. Petrina and Cassie are organising a retreat at Chaverim in early April, and will give information on the 8th. We have been to every retreat and can highly recommend them, they are great, very relaxing and lots of scrapping, eating, drinking, and all that a women wants in a weekend away (except Sean Connery of course.......) but who needs him when we have scrapping!!!

Sunday 11 January 2009

Well, we had a lovely afternoon, scrapping and chatting. Thank you ladies for coming along hopefully you all enjoyed the afternoon, I certainly did.
Sorry that Dilys wasn't there, but as always, family comes first, and hopefully all went well with Bob, and you were missed by all.
Firstly, a few thanks are in order - again thanks to Lorelle for the donation of the sewing machine, it was certainly put to work on Sunday and worked a treat, thanks to Katie and Kerry, for popping in to say hi, and to Petrina for the blog header.
Thanks also to Sandra for helping me set up and also to all the ladies that helped me pack up and stow everything away for me, it was certainly appreciated.
Now ShowTime, hopefully the photos I took turned out okay, Helen, I didn't get one of your afternoon's work, will have to rectify that next time.

A small bundle of joy had us all going ga ga, Danielle came with baby Zacharry, everybody had lots of cuddles, lovely to see them looking to happy and well.

Danielle receiving her special album that Lorelle made her for baby, good idea Lorelle

Kylie's lovely cuddles page

Sandra's page of her friend's engagement party

Lovely page from Shandelle with some scary dinosaurs, love the BG archaic papers

Donna's work in progress, good way to use lots of photos, obviously somebody is a bit of a biker boy at heart

Shana's daughter, having fun

Shana being industrious in finishing two pages in one afternoon

Lovely fishing page from Bev, can't see any fish though (nor beer!)

Last is one of my beautful grandchildren, trying so hard to look innocent.

Lovely pages ladies, we all had a busy afternoon, I don't think the photos do them justice, but practice makes perfect.

See you on 8th February,
By for now,

Linda

Also, big congratulations to Danielle and Craig on the birth of their baby boy, Zacharry Craig - 7lb 1oz - who arrived on the 29th December 2008. Well done to you both, and good to hear all is going well. Maybe Danielle might pop in on the 11th to show off the new edition to their family.
See you on the 11th,
Bye, Linda and Dilys.
