Happy Christmas to all

I don't know about anybody else, but Dilys and I had a lovely time on Sunday, it was a bit squashed, but we were all close and could chatter away happily while crafting. The food as usual was far too delicious, very tempting and I am sure we all over indulged, but so what, it's the silly season.
Everybody was happy with their secret santa gift and boy, there was such a variety of gifts, well done ladies, its amazing what we can get for $5.00 (!). Don't know about anybody else, but I love getting pressies!
In relation to dates for 2011, I received the ever faithful Paul Neville calendar (what would we do without it) and realised that there is 2 months where we fall in school holidays, being April and September, so in regard to September, we will make it the 11th, which is the week before school holidays and for April we will move it to the 10th, which is also the week before school holidays, I hope this works in well with everybody. If there is a problem, just let us know.
At the moment I don't know the dates for the retreat and hopefully Kerry will get the dates to me so that I can pass that on. If it clashes with the monthly meet, we will try to work round that, one idea is to have the Sunday meet at Chaverim for the day, what a great day that would be.
We look forward to seeing you all in the New Year and hope everybody has a very merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous
Anyhow ladies, thank you for your support during the past year, we look forward to seeing you in 2011 (oh how the years fly by). Take care and enjoy the holiday season.
Cheers

What a lovely time was had by all

Just to say thank you to everybody for coming along on Sunday and having a lovely time. Lots of yummy food and Rachael got a lovely surprise with her gift and her lunch, so thank you to everybody contributing towards both. Unfortunately I forgot my camera (what's new I hear you say) so sorry we didn't get any photographs. Everybody seemed to be having a good chat and lots of fun, I didn't really achieve alot in the way of creativity, a few made some beautiful cards for every occasion and I think Rachael was the only one of us actually scrapping, but that is what the day is all about isn't it, just doing what we want, having a good old yard and lots of laughter.
In relation to next month, we did say we would change it to the 5th because of school holidays etc., etc. but unfortunately the room is booked out for that day. We can have upstairs or we can leave it until the 12th. CAN I PLEASE HAVE A RESPONSE ASAP SO THAT I CAN EITHER BOOK THE ROOM UPSTAIRS IF THAT IS WHAT RESPONSE WE GET. THANKS LADIES.
HAVE A GOOD MONTH,
BYE FOR NOW

The cost is $15.00 if you bring plate (not forgetting the letter C - chocolate, chardonay, champagne, cabernet, chocolate, chardonay, champagne, chips, cheese, chardonary, chocolate, Coke and Rum (!) did I mention chocolate.......... Seriously though, now The Bill has finished what else do we have to do on a Saturday nite..................If you don't bring a plate, the cost will be $20.00.

Slack, slack, slack, sorry ladies

Sorry about being so slack with the blogging, life just seems to be getting away from us at the moment. Well we all seemed to have a good October get together, plenty of laughter and chatter. Pauline from Kaszazz had nice "make and take" for us with a very simple but effective birthday card, thank you Pauline. Pauline also showed us the marbling effect with "Smooch" on the papers. We hope everyone enoyed themselves, and look forward to seeing you all 14th November. Also in regard to December, we are changing the date to the 6th December to avoid school holidays.
Bye for now,

12-Sept-2010

Hi ladies, well we had a lovely afternoon last Sunday, lots of chatting and scrapping was done. We had plenty of room in the smaller space. Next month (October), Pauline, the lady from Kaszazz will be demonstrating a birthday card for us to "make and take". Hope to see you all then.

12th September

Hi everybody, hope you have all had a good month. This is just to remind everyone about Sunday, the 12th September.
Also, if you aren't doing anything on the 5th September (I know it's father's day), there is a Stampin Up New Catalogue launch, its at the neighbourhood centre, 1.00 to 4.00 pm. So if you are free and would like to join Lorelle, Gayle and Paula, come along. I think I emailed everybody with the details so contact either Lorelle, Gayle or Paula if you are coming.
Cheers
Linda

News from 8th August

It was a small gathering yesterday, but still a lovely day, I think there was more chatting going on than scrapbooking. We welcomed a new lady, Pauline who is a Kazzaz demonstrator. She is happy to come along on the October get together for us to do a "make and take". Can you let us know if you are or are not coming about a week before so that we can give Pauline numbers, thanks. We will remind everyone nearer the date.
Due to the small gatherings we have had lately, we have decided to book only half the room from now on to reduce the rent for the day and in that way we aren't "running on empty" in the kitty. The cost will still be $5.00 but in that way we will have a little left over for the months when there is just the few of us.
Hope to see you next month, have a good week,
Dilys & Linda

11 July 2010

Well ladies, another monthly get together has been and gone, how fast is 2010 is flying. We enjoyed another enjoyable day, plenty of chatting and eating and lots of creative work happeng.
After chatting with a few of the ladies, we decided to celebrate “Christmas in July” again. So, at our next get together on 11th July, if you are joining us, you will need a SECRET SANTA PRESENT to the value of $5.00, some Christmas fare, and a happy festive glow.

To give the day an extra bit of pressure, there will be a CHALLENGE (for anybody who would like to join in). The challenge will be a Christmas theme page, with either 2 4x6 or 1 5x7 photo, more details to be released later, there will be a sketch and a pack, we will let you know the price of the pack as soon possible, all those joining in will be given a raffle ticket and numbers will be drawn out at the end of the day, saving somebody the stressful job of “voting”. The winner will receive a prize. So lovely ladies, how about it, will you join us? If so, can you let us know if you are joining in the challenge so that we can estimate how many packs to prepare, the cut off date for letting us know about the challenge is 30th June to give us plenty of time to get organised. We looking forward to hearing from you, have a wonderful month.
Bye for now,
The Sisters

June 6

Hi ladies, well Mother's Day seemed to be quite a success with all of us (except Dilys unfortunately she had to go home sick - she is fine now and back at work). We had a lovely lunch, chocolates and then afternoon tea. Thank you ladies for all your contributions to lunch and my expanding waistline.
This is just a reminder that our next meeting is on the 6th June, a little bit earlier because of the long weekend the week after. Also it's the papercraft show down in Brisbane on the long weekend, which is a fantastic place to go to see all the latest in the scrapbooking/cardmaking/stamping etc., scene and of course someone we all know is doing a class (okay its Petrina) and we all wish her well with the class. I think there might be a few from our group down there that weekend, if so enjoy yourselves, Dilys and I have been for the last 4 years and have always had a great time and spent far too much money.
Well ladies, look forward to seeing you all on the 6th June.
Bye for now,
Linda and Dilys

Mother's Day

Hello everybody, I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend.
Thank you to those that have responded to the email about Mother's Day. We will go ahead as usual on the 9th May and hope to make it a special day.
To plan the menu for lunch, could we please have some idea of your contribution, just so we aren't eating choc cake and Tim Tams all day (not that that's a problem with us LOL).
Looking forward to seeing you Sunday,
Dilys & Linda

Intimate little group

It was a very intimate gathering yesterday, Rachael, Shandell and myself and my granddaughter Samantha. It was still a lovely day, a few visitors dropped in, and we still got some scrapping done, plenty of chatting and there was certainly enough food, Shandell treat us to some home made Chelsea Buns yummy!
No doubt because of it being the end of school holidays and the retreat next week it was to be expected. There was enough funds in the kitty to cover the $30.00 shortfall, but that means the kitty is low again.
Anyhow ladies, definitely need some feedback, we will need numbers for next month's gathering, it is on Mother's Day and if there is only going to be a few people, it would not be worth it, so could all those that are going to be available to come, let us know by 1st May, and if there is only a few then we will cancel and make try to make it for the week after. If there is no feedback, we will just cancel and change it to the 16th if that date is available.
Also, we might have to do this each month, if people can let us know at least a week before if they can come or not, then it will help in situations like this month.
That's all for now ladies and for those going to the retreat have a great time, lots of creativity and try to behave.
Bye for now,
Linda

9th April

Hi ladies, hope you are looking forward to Sunday as much as I am. Dilys won't be there - off holidaying again. Because she won't be there, I can't get the club's equipment etc., as it is locked in her garage. Luckily I have the tea and coffee. Anyway ladies, I look forward to seeing you on Sunday for another fun filled day of creativity
Bye for now,
Linda

Sunday 14.03.10

Almost half way through March, we all had a lovely day scrapping and chatting, its nice to catch up with everybody and see what everybody has been up to.
We did have a chat about the May get together which is the 9th and is Mother's Day. It was suggested that for those that can make it, we do a Mother's Day lunch. If we could all contribute to lunch that would be nice, just leave a comment on what you would like to bring or email Dilys or myself and we can get it organised so that we don't double up. Rachael offered to do a quiche, so other offers would be appreciated, also numbers before the day so that we know how many to cater for, maybe if we can have numbers and what your contribution to lunch will be at least one week before (i.e. 2nd May) then we could let everybody know..

I did manage to remember my camera and here are photos of all the creative work that was done on the day.

Lorrelle spent time sorting Kerry's tote out, wish I had took a "before" photo of all the "@!@!" she had in it!!! There was at least 6 corner punches - where did it all fit"

Katie's page of beautiful Melanie

Shandelle's handy little notelets -

Kylie's "besties" page

Rachael's two pages her beautiful children

Kathy's two lovely black and white pages, sorry but the photo does not do them justice - have to practice with the light/flash.

Beautiful photo of Mitchell with mummy and daddy

Dilys' beautiful double page of her granddaughter Milly

February 2010`

Hi ladies, we hope everyone enjoyed themselves on their Valentines Day scrapbooking day! There seems to be so many of us that came, thank you one and all, it was another fun day, lots of scrapping, chatting and of course eating and drinking tea/coffee. I did take some photos on my phone (as usual I forgot my camera!!!!! - so much for that new years resolution) but for some reason I don't seem to be able to access them on my computer..sorry ladies.
Congratulations to Rachael on the publication of her page in Scrapbooking Creations, another talent amongst us. Also, I did have the privilege of having a letter published in the same issue- no prize, but hey, first time my name has been in print......
A lot of scrapping was done and quite a few pages were done for the SC Kids Camp which Petrina was good enough to post off for those that delivered them, there looked to be quite a few pages done for such a good cause.
Thanks to Shandell for her contribution of teabags and $ towards the milk. Also thanks to Shandell for showing me how to make those lovely flowers, which are on her blog
http://littlemissscrappy.blogspot.com/. If anybody else has any great idea, please don't hesitate to let us know, we are all usually welcome to new ideas, tips etc.
Don't forget Petrina and Racheal are getting things ready for the retreat, contact them if you haven't already got your name down for this great weekend.
Well ladies, hope you have a good month, we look forward to seeing you all next time,
take care and be safe.
