Recipe for texture past

Hi ladies, found a wonderful blog with lots of hints and tips, espectially this one for those that use texture paste on their projects:

Homemade Smooth Texture Paste
1/4 cup Talcum Powder (I used Johnson's Baby Powder, Make it smell good too!!)
1 tablespoon White All purpose School Glue
1 tablespoon White Craft Paint
Some Water

Instructions: Combine talcum powder, glue, white paint with disposable chopsticks (or plastic spoon) in an airtight container, adding water to get it to the consistency you are looking for. You want a nice thick texture much like toothpaste. The mixture will keep perfectly for many months.

Another handy hint for Modge Podge = equal parts of craft glue to water.

Now I haven't tried these, but will have a go maybe on the weekend.

The blog that I found lots of hints and tutorials is http://gabriellepollacco.blogspot.ca/, she has lots of lovely "busy" pages and some with instructions.

Hope you find this useful. Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Bye,
Linda

February

Hi ladies, welcome to the new year of Simplycrafty. It was good to see everyone after the Christmas break, thank you all for coming.
We had a lovely day crafting, it's strange to see how we all seem to have diversified to different crafts over the years, from simply scrapbooking we have a whole range of crafts happening now, card making, sewing, project life to name a few oh, mustn't forget Bev and her school preparation😉.
Anyhow, there won't be any Simplycrafty in March, but there is the beautifully relaxing retreat, a great weekend of fun, laughter, eating and scrapping/crafting, and did I say eating and drinking? If you need further info about the retreat, let us know and we can get Kerri to give you the details.
Have a great month. If we don't see you at the retreat, we'll see you in April, hopefully.

Christmas in July

We had a lovely get together yesterday, quite a few joined in the card swap and I will have photos of the cards asap.

I had made some enamel "dots" and they turned out quite well, Shandell has a picture on the Simplycrafty facebook page. It was good to see a few of the ladies putting them to good use. I will endeavour to make more as I got a BIG bag of beads and am quite happy to share them.

Just to confirm, the next Simply Crafty is on 27th July - not the 2nd as shown on the blog.

We will do our usual "Christmas in July" . Something lovely for lunch, please let me know if you are bringing sweet or savoury, and a Secret Santa gift to the value of $5.00.

The card swap for July will be a Christmas Card, please let me know at least a week beforehand, if you are joining in the card swap.

Also can you let me know at least a week beforehand, if you will be coming.

Thanks ladies, take care and have a wonderful month, looking forward to seeing you in July.
